Red Pine (a.k.a. Bill Porter), author of Road to Heaven: Encounters with Chinese Hermits, is one of the world’s most respected translators of Chinese literature, bringing into English several of China’s central religious and literary texts including The Platform Sutra, The Diamond Sutra, and The Heart Sutra. He is a frequent visitor to China and has spent many years living in Taiwan and Hong Kong. He lives in Port Townsend, Washington.

 

Powell

Kevin Powell’s articles have appeared in many publications, including Newsweek, Rolling Stone, and Vibe, where he was a founding staff member. He lives in Brooklyn, New York, and is the author of the poetry collection, No Sleep Till Brooklyn.

 

 

Writer and collage artist Graham Rawle is a lecturer on sequential design and illustration at the University of Brighton. He is the author of the graphic novel Woman’s World and an illustrated version of The Wizard of Oz. He lives in London.

Victoria Redel is the author of the acclaimed novel Loverboy, as well as The Border of Truth, a collection of short stories, and two books of poetry. She has received a National Endowments for the Arts Fellowship and a Fine Arts Work Center Fellowship, and teaches writing at both Columbia University and Sarah Lawrence College. She lives in Manhattan.

David Rees is the author of several cult-hit comic books and the comic strip “Get Your War On,” anthologized in Get Your War On: The Definitive Account of the War on Terror, 2001-2008. He lives in Beacon, New York.

Stacey Richter is the author of My Date with Satan and Twin Study. A four-time Pushcart Prize winner and a winner of the National Magazine Award for fiction, she lives in Tucson, Arizona.

Louis Reyes Rivera has taught poetry and essay writing since 1969. He co-edited Bum Rush the Page: A Def Poetry Jam and The Bandana Republic: A Literary Anthology by Gang Members and Their Affiliates and has received a Special Congressional Recognition Award. He lives in New York City.

Cristy C. Road is a freelance illustrator, zine publisher, and writer. Her first novel is Bad Habits. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Rodriguez

Favianna Rodriguez is the co-editor of Reproduce and Revolt. Her dynamic political prints and posters tell a history of social justice, capturing the daily sentiments of a people in daily struggle, to document their efforts and celebrate their victories. Rodriguez is co-founder of the EastSide Arts Alliance (ESAA), a third world collective of artists and activists working to empower the Oakland community through art and culture. She has lectured several times in Tokyo and Mexico City about the role of art and culture in community building. She lives in Oakland, California.

James Salter is the author of eight books, including A Sport and a Pastime, Gods of Tin, and There & Then. He has been awarded the PEN/Faulkner Award and is a member of the Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. He divides his time between New York and Colorado.
